YouTube Analytics Replaces Insight
Have you looked at the new YouTube Analytics page, yet? It's the replacement for the older YouTube Insight. It contains most of the same info, but with a new interface. You can read the official blog entry here.
Analytics has it's share of good and bad compared to the older Insight interface, but overall seems to make the important numbers available faster. Now, those numbers just need to be updated more frequently.

YouTube Homepage Experiment Update
Have you noticed a dramatic change to the YouTube homepage lately? Most likely not, but some users have been randomly added to the latest YouTube Homepage design experiment.
Check out this CNN.com article about what you may (or may not) be seeing on the YouTube homepage very soon. (Note that the experiment is not directly connected to Google+, which the article may make you believe. Not saying it isn't inspired by Google+'s design, though.)

Update to the YouTube API
For the many Google Account users who don't actually have YouTube accounts, you will be able to take advantage of using various online applications that use the YouTube API.
To read the long, technical description (which you most likely won't read unless you are an API developer), you can click here.
The short version means that if you or someone else ever ran into a YouTube related app on website, but it couldn't be used without being logged in to a YouTube account, someone's found an official way around that.

Subscriptions Fail?
It appears that there is a problem with subscriptions on YouTube at the moment. Seems that new videos uploaded since yesterday have stopped appearing under subscriptions. Keep this in mind if you have recently uploaded any videos, or were thinking about doing so. You might want to wait for the bug to be fixed, or use one of YouTube's alternate video sharing methods for the time being.

Uploading your Call of Duty Gameplay to YouTube
If you have about an hour or so to spare, check out this video about how the developers of Call of Duty: Black Ops worked to integrate uploading gameplay footage directly to YouTube with the help of YouTube's Upload API's. The video also goes further by discussing similar technology that will be used in the near future.

Want to know what Channel Branding Options will be in Cosmic Panda?
Seems the answer is, "Not much".
On the bright side, it seems that while channels may be losing some customization, the video watch pages may be gaining something new.
Oh, and no more channel autoplay. For anyone. That's mentioned somewhere.

YouTube Takes You to (Copyright) School
YouTube has recently announced the opening of their new Copyright Help Center. Along with this announcement is the opening of YouTube Copyright School, which users will have to complete a tutorial if they are caught violating copyright.
This is hopefully an attempt to keep fewer accounts from being suspended due to accidental or unjustified copyright claims, though it has been made clear that the removal of copyright strikes is still not guaranteed.

YouTube Adds Features to Video Editor
I don't have too much experience with the feature (never really needed to use it, and I had problems with it when I tried), but YouTube has added a few new features to it's video editor.
Features added include a stabilizer, which attempts to remove unsteady camera shaking from a video, and a 3D editing feature, which is an attempt to make YouTube 3D video much easier to create.
You can check out the full details here.

YouTube Creator Institute and YouTube NextUp
Last week, YouTube announced their YouTube Next campaign. At that time, it was a bit unclear as to what this actually meant. Over the past couple of days, the Official YouTube Blog has cleared up some of the confusion, and has announced two programs (or contests) with the hopes of getting people in front of (or perhaps behind?) the camera.
