YouTube Creator Institute and YouTube NextUp

Last week, YouTube announced their YouTube Next campaign.  At that time, it was a bit unclear as to what this actually meant.  Over the past couple of days, the Official YouTube Blog has cleared up some of the confusion, and has announced two programs (or contests) with the hopes of getting people in front of (or perhaps behind?) the camera.

The first program announced was the YouTube Creator Institute.  I guess the University of YouTube isn't such a strange idea after all?  Anyone who is at least 18 years of age and living in the United States is qualified to enter.  Only a select few will actually make it all the way to the actual Institute.

The second program is YouTube NextUp.  This program is very similar to the Creator Institute, but is only open to YouTube Partners.  Up to 25 Partners will be selected to participate.  Partners who choose to enter NextUp will not be allowed to apply for the Creator Institute.

Be sure to click on the above links for the full rules, qualifications, and prizes involved in each program.
