The Official Xbox.com Blog is reporting that the Xbox 360 Dashboard update will be released to everyone on December 6th.
Anyone remember why this is important?
The update was mentioned back at E3 earlier this year, in which an official YouTube video viewing application was announced alongside the other features, such as Live TV integration and a new dashboard design.
Neither the Official Xbox.com Blog, or Major Nelson's Blog mention the YouTube application specifically, but they do mention that, "New, customized applications for television, movies, internet videos, sports and music will begin rolling out from world-leading providers".
Currently, the Xbox 360 has access to video streaming applications such as Hulu Plus and Netflix, as well as Zune media.
Update: According to IGN, the YouTube App will most likely be added later, before the end of the year.
